Over
200 people attended worship service in beautiful weather. Pre- and
post-service music was provided by the Seale Sisters from Winchester.
In addition, Mt. Calvary preschool students, after-school students, and
the Sunday School sang HOW WE LIVE AS CHRISTIANS and had a fun-filled
day at the church picnic. The barbeque and auction were a huge
success! We hope to see YOU there next year!

| In
preparation of the younger students being able to assist during chapel
next year, Hunter Sabo and John Kaspar led the students in the recitation
of the Lord's Prayer. Conner Price and Peyton James then volunteered to
lead the classes in the Pledge to the Christian flag. It has been the
practice of allowing the older students to participate in each week's
chapel, so since this was the final chapel for the regular school year the
younger students "stepped up" to take on this leadership role. |

| Mrs.
Becky's Butterflies planted grass and watched the "grassheads"
grow as they learned about planting seeds. |
Mrs.
Supak brought her high school students to observe the preschool as they
learned about foods and nutrition and possible careers in the
preschool/daycare field.

| Learning is
fun at Mt. Calvary Preschool. What better way to learn about the letter P
than to play with pig noses in pudding!
Or, was it more fun to paint the sidewalk? The creative
teachers are always coming up with
new ways to make learning fun. |

| On
Sunday, April 25, Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and Preschool, La Grange,

her honor was held after the church service. |

Mt. Calvary
Lutheran Preschool had a full day on Friday, March 26. At 9:00 the
students had chapel; at 9:30, there was an Easter egg hunt;
Teaspoon, Madeline Willrich's grandparents' donkey, came to visit; and then
there were the class parties. What a wonderful way to celebrate
Jesus' love for us!

DPS Trooper
Jerry Harris visited the three and four-year-old classes on March 22 to
discuss when to call 911, Stranger Danger, and to reinforce that police
officers are our friends. The students were then allowed to sit in the
patrol car as they learned about the different instruments in the vehicle. |

To
celebrate Lutheran Schools Weeks, Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool set off
balloons with Bible verses inside to tell others that Jesus loves them. |
Volunteers
Brandy Gross, Jon Lehmann, and Chris Westall helped inflate the balloons
donated by Betsy Chovanec.
|
After
the balloon send off, Mrs. Becky's and Mrs. Linda's class sent
bubbles
in search of the balloons.

| The
Tooth Fairy from the office of Dr. Bill Reeves, an orthodontist from
Brenham, Texas, came to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool on March 3. The
tooth fairy and her helper explained how to take proper care of our teeth
and the consequences of not doing so. Each student was then given a dental
hygiene goodie bag. |
 |
The
tooth fairy had a heart-to-heart talk with the students as they learned
about taking proper care of their teeth. |
