SUMMER PROGRAM NEWS

Mt. Calvary Summer Preschool Program is off to a great start with the children and teachers sharing in God's love and grace. Just look at all the smiling faces pictured below!

The Preschool invites you to come look at the new gravel on their playground.  We want to say thank you to all the workers who devoted many hours to this project, with special thanks going to Schnell Hauling and Kleiber Tractor.  The students are asking you to save those Campbell 's, Pepperidge Farms, and V8 Splash UPC labels for new playground riding toys.  If you are interested in helping us, please cut the UPC labels (make certain it is the entire UPC label) and put them in the box in the narthex.  We still have some openings in the three and four-year-old programs for 2008-09.  If interested, please contact the preschool office at 968-5913.

We are also looking for musically talented volunteers to help with our singing and music program. If interested, please contact Janice Teinert at 968-5913.

	On Friday, August 8, Mt. Calvary Preschool hosted a Reading Readiness Workshop for teachers from Immanuel Lutheran in Giddings and Mt. Calvary Preschool in La Grange. The workshop was presented by Leigh Ann Sublette, a teacher from Katy, Texas, to help teachers prepare for the upcoming school year.
		Look at the two riding toys that  we got FREE from the Labels for Education program. Thanks to all of you who are clipping those UPC labels for the preschool children!
	Above:  A rainbow appeared the week that Mt. Calvary Preschool students were learning about Noah and God's promise to send a rainbow. Volunteer Brenda Fischer assisted Hailey Hess and Pegi Knippel as they demonstrated how we can create a rainbow. Becky Leer helps students with summer art projects that are displayed in the preschool building. Stop by to see the many projects that the summer school students are completing while learning about God's love for them.
Happy July 4th ! ! !   Students at Mt. Calvary Preschool practiced saying the Pledge of Allegiance that will be aired on KVLG-KBUK (104.9 FM) on Friday, July 4th.   Special thanks to Dan Mueller for making this possible for our students.

	Here are some pictures of the children cooling off in the hot Texas summer weather on Friday, June  6th - Water Play Day.
	Mt. Calvary Preschool visited Care Inn of La Grange on June 17th and sang songs for the residents.  A great time  was had by all.
	What a wonderful group of workers turned out in the ferocious heat on Friday and Saturday (June 13 and 14) to help spread the new pea gravel for the playground. Thanks to everyone!
	The VBS and Preschool Summer Program students had an outstanding time on their "Friendship Trek"!
