	The older students in the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool summer program were treated to a special concert as Scott McNulty entertained them on the Renaissance Quantum organ. The students were each given a "private" lesson by Mr. McNulty in hopes of encouraging their musical aspirations.

You can't take the teacher out of the classroom.....
Elizabeth Ashton, a retired teacher and resident of Care Inn of La Grange, asked Activity Manager Lisa Roth if she could find a class for her to teach since her fondest memories were of her many years of teaching first grade. Lisa contacted Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool, La Grange, and asked if she could bring Mrs. Ashton to the preschool for her to read to the students. Both Mrs. Ashton and the class had a wonderful time sharing their experiences. Mrs. Ashton taught at Camp Pendleton before moving to Texas.

FUN! FUN! FUN! New Playground Equipment is Here!
Thanks to the generosity of the Texas Women's League and to those of you who bought and sold the Little Lamb's Cookie Dough and the Little Caesar's Pizza kits, our preschool students now have new playground equipment.




The preschool board and some of the teachers even came to check out some of the fun items! Stop by and see our new playground.


How do you beat the summer heat during summer school? Play in the sprinkler and then have icee pops - sounds like a good idea to these children.

But what do you do when it is too hot to even be outside?		*You come inside and play with shaving cream and color pictures. What fun!*


	Nothing is more fun than playing in the water sprinkler with your friends at Mt. Calvary Preschool!

LITERACY WORKSHOP JUNE 10, 2009

	Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool hosted a literacy workshop on June 10 with neighboring Lutheran schools from Brenham, Giddings, and Serbin attending. The teachers had a fun-filled day of work and are making plans for the 2009-10 school year. Presenters were Leigh Ann Sublette and Sheila Richburg.

SUMMER SESSION BEGINS! ! !
	Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool's summer session started June 1 and will run until August 14. The first day of the fall session will be August 24. Contact Janice Teinert, preschool director, at 968-5913 for more information.
