SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS

Sunday, March 28, 2004

On Sunday, March 28, 2004 during the 9:00 a.m. worship service, numerous quilts were displayed for viewing and dedicated to Lutheran World Relief for shipment throughout the world.  Our quilters for Lutheran World Relief have been meeting at 2:00 p.m. on Mondays in the Educational Building. So far, approximately 65 quilts have been assembled, tacked and stitched.  Pictured below are Gladys Teinert and Karen Fitch, with one of these beautiful quilts.

Our Sunday School kids were presented with their quarterly attendance awards.

And a surprise presentation was made to Sean Cramer, our outgoing DCE Intern.  In appreciation for his hard work and dedication, Sean was presented with a special cross, certificate of recognition and several gift certificates from the Pastor and the Boards of Education, Youth, and Missions.

Pictured above, from left, are Harold Streicher, Board of Missions, Tami Pietsch, Board of Youth, Brenda Fischer, Board of Education, Sean Cramer, and Pastor Bragdon. Sean liked living in Texas so well that he has decided to stay on at Camp Lone Star and become a member of Mt. Calvary's congregation!

YOUTH CAR WASH

Saturday, August 9th, 2003

The Board of Youth Ministry and the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church held  a car wash on Saturday, August 9th  in the church parking lot on Madison Street.  The proceeds are going to the St. Mark’s hospital fund.  Approximately $350 was raised.   What a cool way to beat the heat!

David Bragdon carries the processional cross as Rev. Bragdon leads the procession out of the church sanctuary.

The LYF hands out balloons as the congregation members enter the parking lot.

The ceremony begins with a prayer.

The new parking lot is dedicated.   Daniel Fischer is recognized for all his hard work on this project.

The ribbon is cut by (from left to right) Rev. Dennis Bragdon, Daniel Fischer, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Grohmann, representing A. Grohmann & Son, Co., the contractor, and Joanna Prihoda, representing Cutright & Allen, Inc., the architect.

As we all say "Amen" to the dedication, everyone releases their balloons.  What a beautiful sight!
