JANICE TEINERT

Preschool Director

Janice Teinert is the Director of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool and has held this position since June 2008. She is married to Lee Teinert and they have two daughters. Rhonda is married to Jeremy Moore and they have two daughters, Grace and Lauren. Leigh Ann has a son and daughter, Andrei and Sasha.

Janice graduated from Utopia High School and received a BA in English from Texas State. She taught for twenty-eight years and retired in 2002. She owned an antique shop for over thirteen years and still has an interest in antiques and conducts estates sales for others.  Her hobbies include spending time with her family and reading.

Becky Weikel is the Curriculum Coordinator at our preschool and also teaches  four and five year-old students in the Butterfly Class. She is married to Philip Weikel and they have two children: Mara, who will be in the 4^th grade at La Grange Intermediate School and Anthony, who will be in the 1^st grade at Hermes Elementary.

Becky graduated from La Grange High School and Texas State. She has a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with  specialization  in Early Childhood Education and is also certified in ESL. She taught at La Grange ISD for eleven years before joining the staff at Mt. Calvary. 

Donna Benham is married to Scott Benham and they have three children: Brittany, who recently married Kenneth Keilers; Morgan, who works as a dental assistant; and Christopher, who is a sophomore at La Grange High School. Donna will  be working in the Butterfly Room on Tuesday afternoons.

She graduated from Spring Branch High School and is a substitute teacher for La Grange ISD when she is not working at Mt. Calvary.

Julie Cook is married to Jonathan Cook and they have two sons: Gavin , 3 and Everett, 1. Gavin is a student at our preschool. She teaches three and four-year old students in the Fish Class.

Julie graduated from La Grange High School and received a BA in Psychology from Texas A&M University.  She is a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.

LAURA ELLIOTT

JENNIFER GOLAN

Laura Elliott was born and raised in Oklahoma but has lived in La Grange for one and a half years. She is married to Scott Elliott who is the minister at La Grange Church of Christ. They have a two-year-old son, Jackson, who attends Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool.

Laura graduated from the Oklahoma State University with a BS in Education and a minor in Religious Studies. She also has many college hours in music, and she will be teaching music two days a week at Mt. Calvary and then working in the Bear’s Room each afternoon.

Jennifer Golan is married to Heath Golan and they have two children: Korey who is in the eighth grade and Ashlyn who is in Hermes Elementary. She teachers  the three and four-year-olds in the Monkey Class.

Jennifer graduated from Round Top –Carmine High School and Texas State . She is a member of the United Methodist Church where she is a Sunday School teacher.

JOSLYN HENSLEY

LORI HOLLEK

Joslyn Hensley and her husband Nick Hensley have two children: Kaylee, who is in kindergarten at Hermes Elementary and Kaleb, who is in the three-year-old class at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool.

Joslyn graduated from Gonzales High School and received a BS Degree from Texas A&M University. She will be teaching the three and four-year-old class in the Frogs Class this year and on two days a week she can be found in the afternoon Lambs Class.

Lori Hollek is married to Justin Hollek and they have three children: Grant, who is a student at St. Michael’s in Weimar; Gavin, who is a student at Mt. Calvary Preschool; and Gabby, who gets to stay with her grandmother.

Lori is a graduate of La Grange High School and has a BS in  biology with a minor in chemistry from Texas A&M University. She teaches science to all students in the science classroom.

STEPHANIE KATES

Stephanie Kates is married to Matt Kates, the Athletic Director and head football coach at La Grange High School. They have three children: Madelyn, who is in kindergarten at Hermes Elementary, and Macie and Bo who are students at Mt.Calvary.  Stephanie teaches the four and five-year olds in the Lions Class.

Stephanie graduated from Texas A&M University  and is certified  in Early Childhood through

6th grade and ESL. She and has taught kindergarten and second grade in the public school and pre-k 4  in parochial schools.

 Becky Leer  is married to Richard Leer and they have a daughter Katherine and a son Ryan. Katie recently graduated from La Grange High School and Ryan attends La Grange Middle School. She teachers the two and three-year-olds in the Bear Class.

Becky graduated from La Grange High School and enjoys cooking gardening, music, and watching old movies, especially with her family. She volunteers at the VFW and enjoys visiting the elderly.

JACLYN MENG

Kimberly Locke is married to Jason Locke, and they have two children: Jace, 5, and Sadie, 2.  Jace and Sadie are both students at Mt. Calvary.  Kimber will be working in the Frogs Class in the afternoons.

Kimber graduated from La Grange High School and received her BS in Psychology from Texas A&M University and her doctorate from Baylor University.  She maintains a part-time Clinical Psychology practice at St. Mark’s Medical Center.

Jaclyn Meng is married to Jason Meng, an assistant coach at La Grange High School, and has two sons: Hayden, who is eight and Bryant, who is four. She is a substitute for all classes and is in the Butterfly Class two afternoons a week.

Jaclyn graduated from Midwestern State University with a Bachelors Degree in Finance. Her hobbies include reading and spending time with her family.

DANA SMITH

CHARLENE STELZIG

Dana Smith is married to Dennis and they have two children: Ryan, a kindergarten student at Hermes Elementary and Megan, a four-year-old student.  Dana will be in the afternoon Fish Class.

She graduated from Round Top-Carmine High School and  has a BA in history and a minor in Political Science from Texas A&M University. She taught three years before becoming a stay–at-home mom for six years.

Charlene Stelzig  is a La Grange High School graduate who has three children: Joe, who has three children: Trever, Tyler, and Tara; Jo Ann and her husband Kurt ; and Jody and his wife Shalena.

Charlene has owned a bakery in Weatherford, Oklahoma and was the manager of the Student Union at Southwestern Oklahoma State.  She provides the morning and afternoon snacks and the noon meals for our students.

LINDA TEMPLIN

Linda Templin is married to Donald Templin and they have two children: Kevin, a student at Blinn College and Sheridan, a junior at La Grange High School. Linda will teach the two-year-olds in the Lamb’s Class.

Linda graduated from Pasadena High School and has attended San Jacinto Jr. College and Blinn College.
